ARKANSAS CITY — The Kansas Oil and Gas Resources Fund: Kansas Strong, is inviting K-12 teachers to join them at a complimentary Energy Education Workshop held May 5 in Wellington. The event is being hosted by Cowley College and Wellington High School teachers/education students.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1700 East 16th Street. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
The following programs will be offered: Drillers (K-2), Fossils to Fuel (3-5), Explorers (3-6), Petro Active (6-12), Crude Facts (6-8), Core Math (9-12), and Core Science (9-12). To enroll for the event go to www.kansasstrong.com, click on the students tab, select workshops and complete the form with your information and workshop you plan to attend.
Each teacher that attends will receive a $50 stipend, professional development hours (4.5), a free energy education kit, and curriculum correlated to Kansas Department of Education Teaching Standards and New Generation Standards.
