Bob F. Hightower

Bob F. Hightower, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was 88 years old.

He was born to A. C. Hightower and Beulah Christina Fisher Hightower in Quay, Okla., on May 25, 1929. Growing up he worked beside his father on the farm and liked to leave the land better than when it was

purchased. He went to school at Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1950.

He served in the army in the artillery from 1953 to 1955 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in September 1955. Bob and Ruth Ann Fabian Hightower were married on Sept. 27, 1955. They lived in the Big Bend area all their married life.

He worked as a part-time welder for Joe Howrey. Over the years, they raised chickens, sheep, hogs and mostly cattle. He planted cotton and other grains including wheat and milo. He harvested pecans since 2001. He always had a large vegetable garden.

He was a member of Ralston Bible Church for several years, where he served on the church board. He also served on Ralston School Board during the years his children were attending school. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Ralston and retired at the age of 88 years old. Son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Amber still live on the farm where they continue farming.

Survivors include, Ruth Ann; children, Debbie (Chris) Ballinger, of Wichita, Kan., Mike (Kim) Hightower, of Orlando, Fla. and Joe (Amber) Hightower, of the Big Bend; grandchildren, include Ben, Matthew, Jake, Haili, Kelsie, Cody and Quentin; nine great-grandchildren with another one on the way; nieces, Barbara (Travis) Anson and family and Christina (Carl) Moxley and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as siblings, Jack Hightower, Janie Phillippe and Mildred Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Ralston First Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 11, with the Rev. Roy Emmons Sr. and the Rev. Roy Emmons Jr. officiating. Immediate burial will follow in Pixley Cemetery west of Ralston under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home, Fairfax.

Casket bearers will be, Ben Ballinger, Matthew Ballinger, Jake Hightower, Cody Hightower, Markus Paslay, Scott Gibson and Quentin Gray.

Honorary casket bearers are, J. Berry Harrison, Dr. James Graham, Hubert Hutchens, Lee Bledsoe and Carl Goad.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations in his name be made to Ralston First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
