KAW CITY — The Bear Creek Rural Fire District will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the BCRFD Fire Station located at 1510 North 106 Lane, Kaw City, at 6 p.m. There will be refreshments of pies, cookies, cakes and drinks. There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted and residents will be able to pay their annual dues of $50 for 2018- 2019. All interested parties and supporters are invited to attend.
Money raised through dues paid and any donations will be used for needed fire equipment, repairs of vehicles and upkeep of the fire station.
The business meeting will be held at 7 p.m. to inform members and supporters of the fire district of the 2017- 2018 accomplishments and needs for the next year. There will be nominations and election of three open board positions and future goals of the department will be announced.
The fire department urges that anyone in the district planning a controlled burn to inform the fire chief or Ponca City Communications Center so firefighters and concerned citizens can be told it is a controlled burn.
BCRFD is actively recruiting volunteer firefighters and other volunteers to help in the future development of the department and to ensure the safety of its residents.
