Samuel Hastings

A funeral services for William Samuel Hastings, 75, Ponca City resident, will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Dick Robinson, deacon, officiating. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service, Enid.

Bill was born on July 6, 1942 in Ponca City, the son of Milton and Voncille Hollis Hastings, and passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Oklahoma City. He was raised in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School with the class of 1962. He attended Oklahoma State University, studying metallurgy. On April 12, 1975, he married Patricia Ann Esquivel in Arkansas City, Kan. In May of 1977, they renewed their vows at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Ponca City. He worked for Citi Services, Sequoyah Oil, Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring form Conoco as a crane operator in 1995. He owned his own machine shop. He was a member of NASCAR Racing Association, NRA, and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of the residence; daughter, Jeanie Hastings, of Ponca City; grandchildren, Grayson Waller, Chris Robinson and Lindsey Hodge; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mauna Delbert Johnson, of Texas; one nephew and one niece and Patsy’s nephew, Jesse and great-nephew, Kaiden Esquivel. He was preceded in passing by his parents; daughter, Julie Robinson; Patsy’s parents, Frank and Isabell Esquivel and sister-in-law, Anita Esquivel.
