Doris G. Goodale Hamlett

Doris G. Goodale Hamlett, age 96, departed this life on Thursday, April 19, 2018, in Holdenville. She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Lavern, Okla., the daughter of the late Earnest Goodale and Dora Martha Chambers. She was a graduate of Blackwell High School. She later attended cosmetology school and was a hair dresser for many years.

Doris was a member of First Baptist Church, Konawa. Her hobbies were painting, traveling and doing crafts. Most of all, she enjoyed playing the violin and guitar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Arthur Hamlett and two sisters, Clara Long and Ellen Wycoff.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd E. Hamlett and wife Rita, of Sasakwa; David Hamlett and Rachel, of Broaddus, Texas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; one sister, Joyce Warren, of Ponca City and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the family farm 14272 N 3606, Sasakwa, with the Rev. Tommy Azlin officiating.
