The monthly Fly-In Breakfast sponsored by the Ponca City Aviation Foundation is set for this Saturday at the Ponca City Regional Airport.
On the first Saturday of every month a large breakfast menu is offered from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. for just $8 for adults and $4 for children.
Especially during warm weather months, hundreds of planes ranging from historic fighters to the latest in garage-built experimental aircraft line the taxiways.
All proceeds from the breakfast program go 100 percent back into the community via scholarships for young people to pursue aviation careers, the yearly Northern Oklahoma Flight Academy summer camp, and donations to other local charitable organizations primarily to benefit local youths.
Pilots from around the state and beyond attend the event each month, making for an always diverse crowd of aircraft — a leisurely walk among the planes is a great way to walk off a big breakfast… or to work up an appetite.
The local community is always welcome, invited, and encouraged to attend.
“We’re expecting a big turnout for this month with the Fourth of July holiday spreading into an extended weekend for many,” said Bruce Eberle of the Aviation Foundation. “We encourage everyone to come out to fill up on great food and to enjoy the flying scenery.”
