
Gary Lee Foster

Gary Lee Foster passed away on July 20, 2018, in Pauls Valley, Okla.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara McBride, of Burneyville, Okla.; ex-wife, Eliza Foster, of Ponca City; sons, Tristan Albury and Travis Foster, of Ponca City; nephew, Jason Foster and wife Toma Foster, of Liberty, Mo.
He is preceded in death by nephew, Kyle Foster; father, Neal Foster; brother, Terry Foster; grandparents, Bert and Lena Foster and Mark and Alberta Barton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 62 Victory St., Ponca City. Luncheon beforehand starting at noon.
Gary was born on Feb. 19, 1956, in Ponca City, the son of Neal Foster and Barbara Barton Foster. He attended Washington Elementary and East Middle School until ninth grade then went on to graduate from Wichita West High School in 1974.
Gary was a strong wrestler from kindergarten to high school.
Once out of high school he went to work at Cessna. He left Cessna to work performing many construction crafts. He started working as a flooring installer for Star Lumber in Wichita, Kan.
In 1992 Gary was a certified diver and loved the water and took an opportunity to go to the Bahamas to assist with relief efforts in repairing damages caused by Hurricane Andrews. Where he met his wife to be and lived in the Bahamas for two years, then moved to Ponca City in 1994. Gary worked for Mocks Flooring and Doug Smith. He was last employed for Anderson Flooring.
Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman. He instilled those traits in both of his sons.
Gary never met a stranger. Gary was always willing to lend a helping hand.
