KAW CITY —The Bear Creek Rural Fire Department will hold a fish fry on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Bear Creek Fire Station, 1015 North 106 Lane in Kaw City.
The fire department is located west and north of Washunga Bay Campgrounds and north of Lake Harbor housing development. From Newkirk, it is located south of River Road and south of the 106 school house. For those who may not like fish, there will be alternative meat items available. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. with the assistance of Newkirk Mason Lodge #88.
There is no admission charge to the dinner but donations to the fire department will be gladly accepted. An auction of prized items will also be held.
The funds raised at the fish fry will be used for repairs on fire trucks and for equipment needed for the fire department. Bear Creek Rural Fire District consists of all volunteer firefighters and covers approximately 32,000 acres in rural Kay County.
