BRAMAN — The Braman United Methodist Church will hold its annual Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, November 7.
Numerous crafts, homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, fruit breads, home- canned fruit, vegetables, pickles, baked goods, jams and jellies, and other items will be on sale in the foyer starting at 4 p.m.
Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. It will include turkey, brisket, dressing, potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, homemade pies and rolls, coffee, and tea. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 4 to 11, with no charge for children under 4. Patrons will not have to stand in line for carry-outs. Guests are welcome to enjoy listening to entertainment in the sanctuary starting at 5 p.m. while waiting for the annual bazaar to begin at 7 p.m.
The Braman Methodist Service Group has prepared for the bazaar with many fine items for sale. They include four handmade quilts: a fall “Give Thanks” throw (51×71), a multi-colored month-by-month sampler (59×75), a “Waves of Purple” chevron (82×98), and Hawaiian prints accented with white and blue (91×91). In addition, there will be a blue and white crocheted afghan with snowflakes, and a special wall hanging with a list of “What Cancer Cannot Do” honoring those who have battled the disease.
Other items include a beautiful Christmas wreath, a wall hanging in patriotic colors, several machine-quilted pieces, a pink and gray baby quilt, two machine-quilted throws, a quilt with spring flowers on a pink and green background, and a carpenter’s star in burgundy and navy. The auction will start at 7 p.m. with Doyle Steffen and company officiating.
One never knows what individual members have created for the event, so come and be pleasantly surprised while enjoying an evening of good food and fun. Proceeds from the event will be used by the UMW for local projects and missions.
