Dale C. Walker, resident of Tonkawa, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 in Ponca City. He was 74 years old. Dale was born in Ponca City on September 19, 1946 to his parents, Laurence William Walker and Maymie Eula Herd Walker. Dale lived in Tulsa before joining the United States Army. He was stationed in Ft. Polk, La., Oakland, Calif., and Okinawa. After being honorably discharged, Dale moved to Tonkawa and worked at the Tonkawa Sale Barn. He started his own livestock production and worked as a rancher, raising mostly cattle. He married Patricia Ann Nelson on July 19, 1978 in Blackwell, Okla.
Dale enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Brandy and Pepper, until their passing in late 2018. He also enjoyed watching the gold fish in his water pond.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Walker; parents; brothers, Billy Walker, Jack Walker, and Jay B. Walker; sisters, Patricia Thompson, Jo Ellen Jones, and Maxine Alderson.
He is survived by his brother, Bob Walker, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Judy Cox, of Haskell, Okla., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony for Dale will be held at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Tonkawa on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at 10 a.m. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Steve Gessel, Doug Walker, John Oxford, Tom Walker, David Walker, and Gary Walker.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa.
