Quilter’s Guild To Meet

Pioneer Area Quilter’s Guild will meet on Monday, Sept. 10 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1904 N. Pecan in Ponca City. Stitch and assist is at 10:30 a. m.
Social hour will start at 11. a.m.
Business meeting begins at Noon followed by show and share of quilts and projects. The program will begin at about 1 p.m. featuring Cynthia Washburn presenting “Back to Basics: Log Cabin Quilts. “

Cynthia Washburn is from Needle in a Haystack quilt shop in Severy, Kansas where she has taught scrap classes for years.
She will show a variety of samples using many cutting and piecing techniques. Washburn will feature rulers, trim tools, and patterns that will show how to compete a Log Cabin quilt pattern with some unexpected results. She will feature Courthouse steps, half log cabins and curved log cabins and more. It’s time to refresh the basics and feature all the things the Log Cabin has to offer.
Guests are always welcome to attend, however, the guild requests membership in the group after two visits.
